Data for T.N.O.E.P. software and online feedback in gauge form are obtained from the following sources:
- CO2: Season corrected concentration in ppm at Mauna Loa, Hawaii (data from previous month; preliminary).
- General: Dr. Pieter Tans, NOAA, ESRL
(http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/ccgg/trends/). Please see site for a fuller description of how and where data is collected and calculated as well as comparison to global values. - Data: ftp://ftp.cmdl.noaa.gov/ccg/co2/trends/co2_mm_mlo.txt

(Combined Land-Surface Air and Sea-Surface Water Temperature Anomaly. Data is for previous month) - See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_average_temperature
- Temperature anomaly is used because absolute temperature varies "markedly" over short distances while (monthly or annual) anomalies are representative of a much larger region (see here for a fuller discussion).
